Emma's Wedding

Adam's cousin got married in Redding, CA on May 9th. The wedding was beautiful and it was great to see all of Adam's family again and meet some I had never met before. We had a blast!

This is "the crew", some of Adam's aunts, uncles and cousins from out of town that stayed at the hotel together. We really had a great time.

The next day (mother's day) we went to Weaverville, where Margo and her siblings grew up. We attended the church they grew up in and visited the gravesites of their parents and Adam's cousin Scott.

Rock-N-River

I did my first 1/2 marathon on Sunday, the Reno Rock-N-River. It was a rainy day which bummed some people out, but I thought it was quit refreshing.

And were off!!!

The coarse followed the Truckee River and went through some really nice neighborhoods, mostly trail and flat. No in between pictures but it was a very pretty coarse.

Megan's Bridal Shower

Megan (on the left) is getting married in June, so last weekend she had her bridal shower!!!

Kaylee Won!

It was a fun day. Kaylee and I had a little girl time on the way over to Susanville, CA. I ended up staying after the party and helping Megan with her invitations while Adam and Megan's fiancee were fishing.

Softball- Team: Stimulus Package

I got invited to play on a coed softball team by a girl from work. Last Wed was our first game. I was really nervous, I didn't play in HS, only a little intramural at WSU. I told her this and she still wanted me to play. Adam actually played baseball in HS and for like two seconds in college, he was very good and knows a lot. So on the way he was prepping me and giving me pointers. He failed to REMIND me ( I swear I knew I was just nervous and caught up in the moment) that you cannot run through third, or second base, only first. So I did this naturally and was kind of embarrassed but Adam said that nobody saw except the base coach who was screaming at me to stop. Adam even went as far to tell me that I "actually" did really well and he was impressed. I didn't do as well this week, but nobody did, we lost. But I still am proud of myself, off to the batting cages this weekend. I like picking up sports that are new to me. I played soccer in college a few times too and to my surprise I was good, it made me happy. Adam, who never played either, was pretty good too even though he hates the idea of soccer and said he would never play, he's so funny! But next week Adam will get to sub in and play with me, very exciting, I hope he wears his little baseball pants, hee hee. Oh, and when we get our cute little softball team jersey's, I will take a picture and post it!


Apparently I like to put old pictures up, but speaking of intramural sports, this is a funny picture of our WSU competitive coed dodgeball team. This is for real and we were very serious as you can tell from Adam's face. We were Champions that year I must mention. You have no idea how competitive dodgeball can get!

This was our not so serious team! We just played for fun at the Stake Center in Moscow, Idaho.

I have no pictures of our softball, football, volleyball or basketball teams, but I think the eighties dodgeball team pic is all you need! We had WAY too much fun in college.

The asparagus sweatshop

A friend and I really enjoy canning, this is another late night activity of ours. We can Pickeled asparagus, her grandma's recipe.

Everyone at my work LOVES it and asks for jars, so I knew when we started we would need a lot! I don't know how may pounds we bought but between the two of us we had about 25 bundels or $80 worth the asparagus!We ran out of vinegar and had to run to the grocery store, so on our way out I gave Momma some hugs....she likes to hug back.

As the night went we got a little goofier, really feeling like sweat shop workers, canning is a very warm long process.

Yes, this is a mirror image of the kitchen you saw in previous pictures, my friend Laura is also my neighbor and we had to use her kitchen too to make the pickeling sauce because our canning pots were sooooo big we had no room on my stove top.

And the completed project, a total of 45 jars!

Dancing the night shift away

I'm back to nights, which means I am forced to act like a true 24 year old. I have to stay up late even on my days off. Now this sounds like I am being sarcastic but I am not. I like to have a very set (narotic if you'd like) scheduel. I am use to going to bed between 9 and 10 on days I work and no later than 12 on my days off. This works very well with Adam's scheduel too, but now I am on nights 7pm-7am. Adam was in Seattle this weekend doing business and visiting friends. I have no pictures of this of course I have to twist an arm to get pictures taken of the guy friends when I'm not there. But because Adam was gone and I had just started nights my good friend Kaylee and I decided to have a girls weekend! After being called a grandma by my own husband, Kaylee and I and some friends from work went Salsa dancing till 4 AM! It was crafts the next and dancing again the next night till 4 AM again! We also watched her sisters softball game, she plays for University of NV and I went out to dinner with another girl friend to complete the weekend. Despite all the fun and being a "girls weekend", I only have two good pictures, and neither are with the girls!!! (sorry about the blurr, I have a bad camera that claims antiblur but you be the judge)


This is a coworker and friend Jedd, trying to line dance. We are at a country dancehall. You would think he could pick it up....he's from South Dakota! He reminds me a lot of my brother Jordan.

This is Jedd and I again at Mustangs dancehall. We had so much fun. Kaylee is somewhere in the backgound hitting on boys. Jedd and I requested "Sweet Caroline", but were the only ones dancing and belting "Sweeeet Caroline, bum bum bum!" (Heels and dancing all night don't mix.)

There are not too many things I love more than dancing, so despite not liking the night shift, it's only temporary and has its perks.
I had to put this picture, because I was thinking this past weekend about how much Adam loves to dance. At his good buddies wedding last summer he danced with every women there from age 8-80, no joke! We use to swing dance in college a lot too. When Adam came home we both agreed that we had great weekends but couldn't help but think how much more fun it would have been if the other person was there!
