My Birthday Weekend
We went skiing in Lake Tahoe @ Heavenly for my birthday on January 9th. We had a blast! We stayed in a cabin down the road from the lodge for two nights with a group of friends. As you can see the view wasn't too bad, but we could have used more snow! I'd like to think I'm not too bad. I stayed up the entire time until my second to last run and I ate it pretty hard. I usually ski with little fear but after that, I slowed down a bit, to Adam's despair. He is pretty good, but honestly we still both lack a lot of expereince. i remembering going down a run that said for "advanced skiers only", by the time I saw the sign it was kind of too late and I thought, well I will just pretend. I did fine. This is why Adam and I decided to get into skiing. We both really like it and it's something we both can do together and on a somewhat similiar level. Neither one of us have much fear when it comes to fying down a mountian. Adam and I also did some "extreme sledding". Adam made me a cake and bought me a new wallet. It was so nice to be able to ski in our OWN gear! We have many many ski resorts within 2 hours of our house (i think around 10) and actually have one thats only 35-40 minutes south of us.

Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas. I worked Christmas day, but we were able to decorate lots, actually buy presents this year and Adam's parents were down from Alaska and stopped in to visit us. It was a wonderful Christmas. The year before, our first Christmas as husband and wife was very memorable, but we lacked a lot of the resources to be able to celebrate the traditional American way with a big tree and lots of gifts. Adam actually sold his Wii so that we could buy eachother gifts, and our tree was actually a twig, we put in a vase, we cut it down with a dollar store kitchen knife. This is a true story, so we were very thankful for all we had this year. We actually knew all of our gifts before Christmas morning. We had gone to a ski swap a month or so before and picked out what we wanted. We decided that was our goal this year, to be skiers!
